Nicholas Farrar

Nicholas brings over 15 years of experience developing utility-scale renewable energy projects across the U.S. and international markets. His global expertise spans project implementation, energy policy, and project financing, with particular depth in emerging markets and challenging regulatory environments.

He spent a decade in Brazil developing solar and wind projects with Statkraft, a Norwegian utility company, where he navigated complex permitting processes and stakeholder engagement. His international experience extends to Papua New Guinea, where he served as Project Director on the USAID Papua New Guinea Electrification Partnership program, and Pakistan, where he worked as Senior Energy Advisor on the USAID Pakistan Power Sector Improvement Activity. In these roles, he led large-scale efforts to expand clean energy access in underserved communities, support the development of wholesale electricity markets, and improve the management and operation of Pakistan’s electric transmission and distribution system.

Nicholas holds a BS in Geography and a Master’s in Natural Resource Economics, combining technical expertise with deep understanding of project development and economic analysis. He is also a certified Project Management Professional.

In his free time, Nicholas enjoys cultivating a passion for art and science with his two young children and exploring the outdoors with his family.
