Leilina is GoodPower’s youngest board member, having joined in her senior year of college. She has been with GoodPower since 2020 and started as a Fellow. From there, she joined the Youth Advisory Board where she helped the organization with campaigns and strategies targeting youth audiences.
She studied Political Science at the University of Florida, also completing minors in Philosophy and Sustainability. Following her freshman year, Leilina completed a study abroad program in Prague, Czech Republic, which focused on Eastern European and communist history. While in Prague, she also took a landscape painting class and still enjoys painting.
Throughout her undergraduate experience, Leilina completed internships in various areas of government work, ranging from digital fundraising to partnerships and engagement at the Department of Homeland Security. She also interned at a few law firms that specialized in immigration and estate planning. She plans to build her career in public service while staying deeply connected to GoodPower’s work.
Outside of work, Leilina enjoys traveling and even took a few months to backpack following the completion of her degree. She also loves to spend time with family and friends, doing anything from enjoying Florida’s beaches to cooking dinner together.
