Maayan Cohen

Maayan is GoodPower’s Senior Director of Partnerships and for more than a decade, has worked to build strong and strategic partnerships across the organization.

She also manages GoodPower’s Youth Advisory Board to support youth leadership, empowerment, and influence as an integrated component of GoodPower’s work internally and externally.

Maayan joined the GoodPower team in 2011, first as an Educator and later as Program Manager in New York City.  Maayan transitioned to a nationally facing role in 2015 as the Deputy Director of Partnerships and since then has held a number of roles including National Campaigns Director prior to her current role as Senior Director of Partnerships.

She studied Environmental Studies with a concentration in Global Environment and Social Change at Bates College in Maine. She has a variety of experience in the environmental field, from working as a high mountain hut naturalist for the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) to studying the environmental and human impacts of ecotourism in Lushoto, Tanzania. Before joining the GoodPower team, Maayan worked as an environmental and outdoor educator for Christodora, a NY and MA based environmental education and leadership development nonprofit.

Outside of work, Maayan values time with family and engaging in community events – she loves live music, playing soccer, traveling, and adventuring in Vermont’s mountains with her husband and three children.
