Shaniqua Gibson is the Associate Director of Renewable Advocacy at GoodPower, where she plays a pivotal role in accelerating the deployment of utility-scale renewable energy across rural communities in the United States.
In this role, she works at the intersection of policy, grassroots engagement, and community benefit, helping to ensure that the renewable energy transition delivers meaningful outcomes for the people most impacted.
Her career began in community organizing, where she developed a strong foundation in mobilizing people around issues of equity and justice. As an organizer with Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan, Shaniqua built campaigns that empowered local advocates, engaged elected officials, and amplified the voices of communities historically excluded from decision-making. Through this work, she honed her skills in coalition building, strategic communications, and grassroots power-building.
Shaniqua’s transition into renewable energy advocacy reflects her deep commitment to social justice and her belief that clean energy is not only an environmental imperative, but also an economic and equity opportunity. She continues to center people, relationships, and community voice in driving solutions for a more just and sustainable future.
