Steven Clough is the founder and president of AVO, a marketing and management consulting firm specializing in behavioral economics.
He began his career in a neuropsychology lab at the Institute for Learning and Brain Sciences (I-LABS) at the University of Washington, where he developed a deep interest in how people make decisions and how to change behaviors. After earning his business degree, he transitioned into marketing consulting before founding AVO in 2013.
Throughout his career, Steven has partnered with global organizations including Microsoft, Amazon, Disney, Cisco, Philips, and the U.S. and U.K. governments on large-scale behavior change initiatives. He has also authored and presented several notable research and thought leadership papers at conferences around the world.
Steven holds degrees in Business, Psychology, and Music from the University of Washington, where he has lectured on marketing and human behavior. He is currently writing a book on cognitive biases, human behavior, and decision-making. Outside of work, he’s an avid musician who loves the outdoors and traveling.
