Tanya Carson

Tanya is GoodPower’s Grants Specialist, supporting the organization’s development strategies and partnerships. She is excited to contribute to transformative work around the energy transition and fighting disinformation in the quest for a more prosperous future for all. 

Tanya brings 20+ years of nonprofit experience, most recently as Director of Donor Impact at BlaqOut, a Kansas City, Mo., nonprofit serving the Black LGBTQ+ community through healthcare, advocacy, and safe spaces. Her experience also includes several years supporting grants, development, and communications at KC CARE Health Center, an FQHC serving uninsured and underserved communities across the KC metro. 

Tanya received her BA in English from Northwest Missouri State and her MA in Professional Writing and Publishing from Emerson College. A native of the Kansas City, Mo., area, Tanya spent over a decade in the Boston area after graduate school before returning to her home state. She is passionate about environmental issues, equality, and social justice. Tanya lives in Kansas City with her partner and three dogs, enjoying music, movies, crosswords, and reading.
