Global energy demand is increasing costs for families and more frequent extreme weather is costing us in rising insurance premiums, preparation and clean up. In the US, because of the Republican-controlled Congress’ passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, families could see prices increase nearly $200 annually. We’re doing everything within our power to lower costs, create good jobs and advance the renewable energy transition around the world to build an economy that works for all of us — not just the lucky few. Our Better Economy Accelerator helps us get there by doing three key things:
Sharp increases in energy demand are driving bills higher and more frequent climate disasters are costing us. Faster deployment of reliable, safe and affordable renewable energy is the key to both keeping utility bills low and curbing the impacts of climate change. However, today’s projects are routinely being stalled by local opposition — mostly due to disinformation and a lack of education on community benefits. Still, the renewables industry spends less than .1% of their budget on community engagement. We’re filling that gap through the Better Economy Accelerator — leveraging smart, proven communications interventions and mobilization campaigns that engage everyday community members.
The renewable energy transition is here to stay. Despite federal headwinds, renewables continue to grow at a breakneck speed. The renewable energy economy offers high paying careers that have the potential to fuel a middle class renaissance — but training and job readiness preparations need to scale, and fast. We’ve built a network of more than 1.4 million potential clean economy jobseekers, and our digital advertising interventions influence hard-to-reach audiences like rural residents, disengaged young people, and those who haven’t heard much at all about renewables. We educate and connect jobseekers to employer partners and workforce development organizations through the Better Economy Accelerator.
Consumers around the world are poised to save billions of dollars by investing in decarbonized technologies like electric vehicles, e-bikes, heat pumps, and community and residential solar. Regenerative agriculture practices lower the costs of inputs like fertilizer, pesticides, and water, while improving yields and resilience, and helping farmers save and earn more. Many of these safe, affordable and reliable technologies are available right now, but consumers don’t know about them. And, because of political polarization, some groups lag far behind in adopting these technologies — missing out on huge savings. The Better Economy Accelerator leverages our creator community, streaming partnerships, advertising, and podcasts to activate consumers — left, right and center — to take advantage of these incentives.
